During August, I had the chance to photograph Caitlin and Matt at two different sessions. One at their engagement session, and the second at their wedding! These two cuties were so much fun to photograph!
Caitlin and Matt meet waaay back in 2006 at Connor’s Park when they were in high school. Their classes took a field trip to the park, met each other and starting their growing friendship! It wasn’t until after high school that Caitlin said yes to becoming a couple.
Matt proposed in December 2017 with a note on the door saying to “Follow the light”. He placed a trail of candles leading to the kitchen to a hand written love letter. As Caitlin was reading it, he came up behind her, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said YES!
We started our session down in the Walkamow Valley by the river and oh boy, were these two on fire! They rocked both the sweet and romantic and playful and joy filled poses and prompts I gave them! There was so much love between Matt and Caitlin, but my fav moments was the ones where Matt would just stare at his beautiful bride-to-be! So sweet!!!
But what is so cool is this, 2020 is special regarding weddings in Caitlin’s family. They noticed that every 30 years, a generation is getting married. Her great grandparents in 1930, her grandparents in 1960, her parents in 1990 and now Matt and Caitlin in 2020. How cool eh?
Ok I just have to show you Matt and Caitlin’s photos! So keep on scrolling!!
Be sure to check back to see their backyard wedding blog post soon!
As we were walking back to the cars to go to another spot I had to stop them not once, but twice for some photos, and I am so glad I did! I love the arch of the trees with them underneath doing a twirl. And then an open area with Sk thistles was the perfect spot for Caitlin’s! Their wedding colors have purple in it, so it was a perfect flower to bridge the two sessions!
(Fun fact – did you know that thistles are poky, but the purple flower are not?! Crazy eh?)
