Grad sessions are coming and I am getting lots of questions! Today, I want to share about what grads should bring to their grad session to make it unique and personal!

I’m not normally a prop heavy photographer, but I do love when grads bring a prop or two. Let me share why!

• Show off the grad’s hobbies and personalities
• Gives them something to hold to make them less nervous
• And it is just fun!

Here are my top 5 grad prop ideas to help as you plan for your senior session and make it a success!

What should I bring to Grad photos? Sport Equipment or Sports Jersey

This is a classic prop that easy to bring and most popular. You can use pretty much any type of sports equipment like: baseball bats, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, hockey sticks, etc. Plus it will give a chance to show off their skills a bit!

Another way to show off the grads fav sport is by bringing the sport shoes (tap shoes, or hockey skates) will add more variety to the part of the session.

What should I bring to Grad photos? Musical Instrument

If you can carry your musical instrument (flute, guitar, sax, etc), this is a great way to show off your love of music. Or another way to show off your musical talent is by bring sheet music.

What should I bring to Grad photos? Hobby Item or their Car

Just like sports equipment or musical instruments, an item from the grads hobby is another great way to show off what they are into at that stage of life. This could be a paint brush, tools, their car, make up brushes, skateboard, their phone, and the list can go on.

What should I bring to Grad photos? Your Pet

If you want to show off your four-legged best friend, bring him or her along. Just make to have someone along to help grab the dogs attention and take them away after we are done with them. These can be from your dog, cat, horses and even snakes….although I will not be coming close to you with a snake – I will use my zoom lens for those ones. I don’t like snakes! Haha!

What should I bring to Grad photos? Some Accessories

Accessories are a great way to show your personality in pictures and give your hands something to do. Some examples are: hat, sunglasses, shoes or a coat to change up your style!

You could even bring your friend or friends!

Whatever you bring, just make sure you let your photographer know if you plan on bringing props! It’ll help them prepare better for your session.
