Sunny and Preston met at church. Fast forward a few weeks and then realized they had the same class at university and the rest is history!
At the Sage and Dust workshop last June, (yes I know that this blog post is a year out, but life has been so busy that I was finally able to blog this!) Sunny and Preston got dressed up in stunning wedding attire for a mock golden hour elopement session on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River at Camp Wolf Willow, Saskatchewan. This beautiful location is about 1 hour south from Saskatoon. They were rock stars with over 10 photographers snapping photos from every angle! It was such a great experience!
During the session Sunny made a comment that made me smile. She said that this location reminded her of their first date. I love moments like that when I get a glimpse of their history. I asked Sunny afterwards what her favorite part of the day was and she said meeting all the photographers, the flowers and the lace of the dress. And I have to agree! The people were awesome! The flowers were STUNNING and had such an organic and natural feel and the dress….wow!!
I loved Sunny’s two piece lace and tulle wedding dress from the talented Claire La Flaye that moved so beautifully when Sunny walked and the wind blew. And what was even more unique about this dress was it had this beautiful veil style cape that attached to the shoulders! I had never seen a wedding cape before so that was so much fun to photograph! Sunny also had a beautiful had that had a flower crown on top of it for an extra element of beauty. Sunny looked amazing!!!
The flowers from Hawthorn Floral Atelier were gorgeous! I loved how they had such an organic feel with a variety of eucalyptus, coral charm peonies and ranunculus. There was even a succulent in there too!! (My fav plants!) This beautiful bouquet was tied together with a white long tail ribbon that caught the wind just right!
I loved how casual but fancy Preston’s outfit was as well! With his camel color swede coat, stripped blue socks and stripped white and blue button shirt it was so perfect for this riverside elopement! And I loved it how when we got to the sand Preston kicked on his shoes and socks for a more casual feel! (I love having bare feet, so that made me smile!)
I loved every single image I snapped that evening! So grab some munchies and take a peek at this beautiful golden hour elopement session of Sunny and Preston!
