If you have been following my blog or social media for awhile, you may have seen a few posts about Stacey and John. Stacey is my sister, and her and John have been on the other side of my camera a many times! From their engagement session, to family functions, to their wedding and now their fall mock wedding photos!
John and Stacey were married in May 2019 in a beautiful barn by Olds, Alberta. (Happy Anniversary you two love birds!!!!) If you want to check out their chilly spring wedding, check it out here! At the end of September 2019, I wanted to take Stacey and John out to a stunning lakeside location in the Kananaskis area for some photos for advertising for my mountain wedding and elopement portfolio.
One of my “buck list” photos to get while we were in Kananaskis, Alberta last September was a reflection photo of the some mountains with water in front of them. Stacey and John’s session was supposed to be out in the Kananaskis mountains, but a big dump of snow was to happen later that day and we didn’t want to have any troubles out there with all that snow. A few days before this session, my hubby and I were in the mountains and I did get my mountain reflection with fall leaves, but I still wanted to find some still water for a reflection photo with a bride and groom in the photo for advertising. And boy did we find an amazing spot in the middle of Calgary. I don’t even know what this place is called or where it is, but it was perfect! And to top it off, it started to lightly snow! I couldn’t help but do a happy dance and more than a few giggles and squeals! (Ok, ok, if you have ever done a session with me, this usually happens! Ha ha!)
These two were troopers! It was pretty chilly this fall day. But Stacey and John were up for any of my prompts and poses and were ok with my “one more photo”. But even though it was chilly, these two were warm with the passion between them! These two have the best smiles, and they are even brighter when they look at each other! It’s pretty adorable!
It’s a DREAM of mine to photograph a wedding in the mountains!!! So if you know of anyone looking for a wedding or elopement photographer for the mountains (or in Calgary and area), send them my way!!
