Voltage is chemical free (drugs and alchol) part that is put on by Joe’s Place Youth Centre (official) here in Moose Jaw. It’s a youth event that goes till 6 in the morning every New Year’s Eve year. Over 500 youth and over 100 volunteers from all over Saskatchewan get together to ring in the New Year with a skit, live music, prizes, art rooms, inflatables, gaming rooms, and more. This was my second year attending and volunteering as the head photographer and I had a BLAST! I will definitely help out again in the future! And you all should sign up to volunteer as well for next years!
Here is the link to this years highlight video!
Voltage has some amazing things for the kids to do and experience while they are there. Here is just a list of some things that happened this year:
Main skit – If you want to watch the full skit, you can watch it here! Everyone did such a good job with this skit! You have to check it out!
A live band – Juno award winning, The Color helped everyone ring in the New Years and then a second concert at 4 in the morning!
Axe Throwing and a mobile escape room called “The Trailer” by Little Chicago Entertainment.
Gaming rooms, art room, spa room, puppy room (the puppies were my fav!), inflatables room, movie room, and so much more!
And if you want to see more images of the kids, rooms, and volunteers, you can check the images out from photos from the rest of the volunteer photographers and myself here. Part one.
Check out some of the images from this years Voltage! Be sure to scroll down to the end to see the adorable puppies from the puppy room! 🙂
Here is Joe. He is the brains behind Joe’s Place and the coolest guy around! He was a heart for the youth of Moose Jaw and wanted to create a safe space for them to hang out.
The second photo is of Jeremy and his wife who helped to lead the main skit.
Meet the cast of this years main skit! They did a great job!
Here are some photos of the fountain characters and some volunteers. If you want to see the photos with the kids you can check it out HERE.
The security team!
Bringing in the new year with The Color and the cast!
Here is a set of three images that are one of my favs from this years Voltage!
Here are a few images from the super popular room – the puppy room!!
This is how I felt the few days after Voltage! But worth it! 🙂
Another popular room at Voltage is the art room! This year the kids could either pain a canvas, make clay creatures or a mask and there were some pretty awesome prizes for the winners!
The next image is a few of the head volunteers at Voltage. If you see them, be sure to tell them THANK YOU for all the work in putting this event on!
I’m just amazed that people can do this, so I just had to include these kids from the inflatable room.
Thanks for hanging out with me on this blog post from Voltage 2019! If this looks like fun, consider helping out as a volunteer next year or send a donation to Joe’s Place Youth Centre (official)! We want this even to go on for years to come!
