Meet Layne and Megan! They are now married and I had the honor of photographing their first moments as husband and wife! I had such an amazing time with them and their family and friends on their wedding day out at Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village & Museum just south of Moose Jaw, Sk this past October.
This past fall was a cold one. Super rainy and windy, so leading up to Layne and Megan’s wedding we were nervous because they wanted to have an outdoor ceremony and photos. The day of was perfect! The sun was shining, and they were able to having their dream day outside with their reception inside the Convention Center in Moose Jaw later that evening.
Megan and Layne are awesome! They planned every detail and it was so beautiful and unique to them! With colors of cranberry red and dusty blue, cowboy boots and cowboy hats made it a true country wedding. Growing up on a farm, this sort of wedding makes me smile and brings be back to hometown events.
A unique part at this wedding was during the ceremony where they added a branding ceremony. They took their ranch brand and together branded a piece of wood which will now be hung in their home. This replaced your typical sand ceremony or candle ceremony. It was so unique and loved it that these ranchers included it to make their ceremony very special and unique to them!
Megan’s advise for upcoming brides and grooms is: “It’s so worth it in the end!”
A list of their vendors from their day is at the bottom.

Check out Megan’s unique socks that she wore in her cowboy boots. The bridesmaids had some that said bridesmaids on the bottom of their wool socks too! Super warm and cute!
The branding ceremony!
Blanket scarfs were perfect to keep these lovely ladies warm in the shade.
