Winter photography has a quiet kind of magic, especially right after a fresh snowfall. Stephanie and Jason’s winter session in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan was the perfect example: fresh snow, soft light, and a calm, wintry atmosphere that made everything truly beautiful. This session was last year after the first snow fall. (Sorry for the late post! I’m catching up on blog post writing.)
As beautiful as winter sessions are, staying comfortable makes all the difference. Dressing in layers is key so you can adjust as needed, and hand or toe warmers are lifesavers for keeping circulation going. Having coats to throw on between shots helps keep the chill at bay, and don’t underestimate the power of hopping into the car for a few minutes to warm up before shooting again. With a little planning (and a lot of hot coffee afterward), winter sessions can be just as enjoyable as they are stunning.
Here is more information about how to have a successful winter session.
