Amera’s grade 12 grad session was in the middle of a big rain storm in the Saskatchewan prairies! This Moose Jaw grade 12 grad laughed in the face of a storm and got some amazing and unique photos! We went out to a farm yard and thank goodness for some trees to block the CRAZY wind! I was told after the session that just 2 miles away from the farm yard it had POURED!
Amera brought out her family and it was so much fun to hang out with this family again! Her sister Neleah’s grad session was a few years ago so it was such an honor to photograph this family again! I just have to say – THEY ARE AWESOME! They are always up for an adventure and have such a love for one another! You can see Amera’ sisters grad session out at Claybanks Brick Mine here!
When we first saw that there was the threat of rain, we wondered if we should reschedule…the radar looked like it would miss the farm yard so we went ahead with it. Here are some things that helped to make this session a success.
Stalking the weather radar to see if and when the rain would come.
An umbrella to block the wind when walking from one location to another and to protect Amera (and me with the camera) from the rain that did fall.
The bushes and trees. Amera was hoping for photos with a rustic barn, but with the direction of the wind, we had to go to a location that blocked the CRAZY wind!
They were up for an adventure! This is key! No matter what sort of weather, if you are willing to step out and have some fun and try something new, you will have some fun photos with some awesome memories!
This session also was a first for me, where we got Amera’s dad to park behind her with the lights on and then created some magic!
Over all, this was an amazing session with and amazing family! Amera, I wish you all the best at University and I hope to see you and your family again soon!
