From an intimate first look where they read their vows, to a beautiful ceremony, to memorable locations for photos, to a sparkler exit, Mark and Kayla planned the most perfect wedding during a global pandemic!
It was so much fun and such an honor to fly out to Calgary to photograph Mark and Kayla’s downtown wedding! I have meet Mark a few times when I would visit my sister, and then met Kayla and my sisters wedding last year. And every time I have seen them, or heard stories about them, the stories would be about how excited these two were to get married and how madly in love they are! (And at their wedding, this was very true!) I asked them what three words they would use to describe their wedding and they responded with “fun, nostalgic and unconventional”, which described it perfectly!
This intimate wedding was so beautiful and so full of fun, love and joy! These two were the most laid back couple ever! (Which was a good thing when planning a wedding during a global pandemic.)
Mark and Kayla had an industrial chic theme for their wedding. They had their ceremony and had their reception right downtown Calgary at Venue308 and it was STUNNING! With lots of exposed bricks, seeded eucalyptus, terrariums and colours of dusty rose, grey, burgundy and navy made this wedding look like it came right out of a magazine! And side note, if you need an amazing venue in Calgary, please check out Venue308! The staff are AMAZING and such sweethearts and the venue was made for events like weddings!! (It’s so beautiful!)
Mark and Kayla had a beautiful first look where they read each other some very beautiful letters to each other! It was so romantic!
For formal photos we stayed right downtown and went to the Calgary Public Library and Rundle Ruins! Both places were such unique places but the third location, Blackfoot Diner Truckstop, was my favourite because it was the spot they had their first date, they went there after they got engaged, and then had a milkshake there on their wedding. I love that they wanted to include this place because it has so must history with them.
Advise from Mark and Kayla: “Discuss your priorities and what matters most, and don’t sweat the rest!” (So true when planning a wedding during a global pandemic!)
Kayla couldn’t stop smiling and Mark couldn’t keep his eyes of his new wife! These two were so adorable at their wedding earlier this fall!! So sit back and enjoy some (ok, ok….a lot! I just couldn’t narrow it down!) photos from their beautiful intimate wedding!
