Moose Jaw has some great spots for photos! And at Derek and Shania’s engagement session, we found some two very unique places right in town!

These two hold a special spot in my heart because they were the first proposal session that I have ever photographed. A few months prior, Derek contacted me to photograph his proposal to Shania! I was so excited to be apart of this special event! You can see their proposal session here. I think I was as nervous as Derek was that day! hehe.

Fast forward to their engagement session. Derek and Shania wanted a forest feel, so I brought them down in Walkamow Park to the most foresty (yup, I just made up a word) part that I could find. It was so much fun to get to know these two love birds even more! They have the best smiles!

I can’t wait for you to see Shania’s engagement ring!!! It’s STUNNING!

There are several ways to add variety to an engagement session. A few of those ways are different locations, a casual and a dressy outfit, close up or far away photos, romantic to joyfilled emotions, and more! And these two cuties got a lot of variety with all of these options!

I can’t wait to celebrate with them next year at their wedding! Congrats again Derek and Shania!!!

For the second location, we walked further down the path and went to a spot were we could see where Derek proposed to Shania a few weeks earlier! On the other side of the river just behind that big tree. It was so awesome to bring them back to this spot for some more memories!

I was able to photograph their proposal! It was so cute! Shania was very surprised! She thought she was just going on a bike ride but ended up saying “YES” to the best question in the world! You can peek at their proposal blog post here.

Right before the end of the session, I wanted to take them down to the river. It was perfect! I love that golden hour light – it just makes the images so dreamy!! (Side note, these were taken about 8:30 at night on that mid July night.)

Congrats again Derek and Shania!! I can’t wait to photograph your wedding next year!!! WAHOOOO!!!
