Engagement session last year, wedding during a pandemic this year, and reception to follow next year. Matt and Ashley sure do know how to keep me around and I love it because they are AWESOME!! (haha!)

Matt and Ashley were surround by their immediate family and closest friends as they said “I do” two months ago on July 18 in Regina, Saskatchewan and it was so intimate and adorable!

As any couple in 2020 had to experience, Matt and Ashley had to change their big wedding plans a few times but made the most of their wedding day no matter what happened! They plan to have their big reception next year when they can celebrate with all their family and friends! I can’t wait!

I had so much fun with these two love birds! And oh my, they sure know how to make each other laugh (and those around them laugh too)! You can just tell that Matt and Ashley truly and deeply in love with each other and want the best for one another. The jokes were flying left, right and center, there were tons of tickles and laughter and so many smiles.

They got married at church they met (Regina Apostolic Church) and then had a basement reception (due to rain – they wanted a backyard reception) later that day. We went outside the Mackenzie Art Gallery for their family and formal photos which was a good thing, because during the wedding party photos it started to DOWNPOUR! The art gallery has these overhangs which saved us all from getting soaked!! But whatever kinks happened and whatever quick changes needed to be made, these two were just excited to get married!

Advise from Matt and Ashley: ” Don’t plan a wedding during a pandemic. (haha). Always be ready for a change. And don’t plan a wedding 2 years in advance – chances are a pandemic will happen.” Oh you two are so goofy! I love your sense of humor and how you rolled with the punches. Great job!!!

Matt and Ashley had their intimate ceremony at Regina Apostolic Church, the church where they met, and then had their ceremony live for their friends and family to see who were unable to come due to covid.

Due to rain, they had to move their little reception from the back yard to Ashley’s parents basement. These two were such troopers with all the changes that their day had….but they were so happy because they GOT MARRIED!! That’s the important thing! 🙂
