You know when you meet someone and you instantly know that they are loyal, genuine and passionate people? Well that is the feelings that you get when you meet my sister Stacey and her hubby John!
In May 2019, these two were married on a chilly but amazing day by Olds, Alberta. If you want to check out their beautiful barn wedding, check it out here! At the end of September 2019, I wanted to take Stacey and John out to this stunning lakeside location in the Kananaskis Mountains for some photos for advertising for my mountain wedding and elopement portfolio. BUT mother nature had a different idea and was going to dump a ton of snow. So we made the last minute decision to stay in Calgary and find some birch trees and fall colored leaves. Stacey knew of this beautiful spot so we hopped in the car and arrived, and yup, it was so beautiful! Stacey has always loved the fall, so I was so pumped to take photos of her and John with the fall colored leaves. And I love the fact that we were still in Calgary and these images look like we were in the foothill mountains, or the edge of a forest.
It make things even sweeter, the snow was falling for part of our session and it put the cherry on top of the sundae! Later fall can be so chilly, but when the snow falls during a session, it is pure magic!
My favorite moment with these two was when they looked and interacted with each other. Those moments were so genuine and full of laughter, love and happiness!! Just look at the image below! There is pure joy in Stacey’s face as she is laughing while John is embracing her in a “smoochy hug”! And just look at John’s face, he’s got the cutest grin for his wife!
It’s a DREAM of mine to photograph a wedding in the mountains!!! So if you know of anyone looking for a wedding or elopement photographer for the mountains (or in Calgary and area), let me know!
Loved seeing all the pictures. Especially liked the lite snow falling pictures.
Thanks for sharing.
